![]() ![]() I think VKB should have raised the base a bit to make more room for the gimbal to move in and given it an extra 5 degrees of throw at least. The stick has only 20 degree throw, which is I think suboptimal for the table stick. I’m not sure how the twist handles on the new WW2 grip (the old had no twist), but just eyeballing the grip it looks similar. Honestly I’m not sure that’s such a big concern with Gladiator anyway, but this grip was originally designed for the Gunfighter which can have lot harder forces involved. Unlike T16000 the SCG twist axis has a strong detent, presumably to stop it moving accidentally. Resolution is selectable between 8 and 15 bits.Īnyway, some things you might not like about the Gladiator: I don’t think VKB uses anything except MaRS sensors for contactless (they are not Hall effect, supposedly more fancy). For the extra EUR 30, it’s definitely worth it to me as it means much less messing around with the keyboard. ![]() Personally I found these all useful, and have assigned rudder and aileron trim, camera selection, quick views, brakes, parking brake and spoilers to all be at fingertip reach. using the configuration software.Īs TFEV noted, the difference between the two (which accounts for the price difference) is that the WWII has 1 x hat and 2 x buttons on the grip, whereas the SC edition has the mini-stick, 3 x hats and 3 x buttons. Like all axes, you can control the sensitivity, adjust the curve etc. I had no issues with using the twist as a rudder when I first got it, although I have since added the VKB rudder pedals. I am not sure about the WWII combat version of the Gladiator - I have the Space Combat one, but looking on the website at the WWII under ‘General Specifications’ it refers to contactless MaRS sensors, so I would assume it’s the same as the SC. I agree with you re the Thrustmaster cheaper products - it’s a false economy, as you’ll end up having to replace it in a relatively short time, just as I did with the HOTAS. Always happy to help and share experiences, whether good or bad. ![]()
